Paul Theroux does not agree with the way people turn boys into men. I agree with him because as he mentioned in the reading about sports, he talks about sports as a negative thing for boys. Theroux says that as as a little boy you kind off have no option, you have to be in sports because is the "manly" thing to do and it teaches you to be competitive and its a way to prove how "manly" you are. Theroux does not agree with this, and i don't either because boys should have the option of whether or not they want to get into sports. Their parents should not just push them to do it. Like Theroux said, i do not agree with the way people turn boys into men because that has a negative influence on men. Men will just be going around the world proving to society their "manhood" and that will just be their way of life.

This is a very nice start to an analysis of Theroux's point about the process of teaching boys how to become men. But remember that when you use somebody's words or phrases or ideas which you paraphrase, you should put quotation marks around the first two, and provide page numbers in all three instances. Think a little more about the pressure boys experience when they are forced to play sports. Also, I really like your last sentence and I'm curious what are some possible consequences of "men...going around the world proving to society their "manhood" and that will just be their way of life"?
